原创对照：妙光法师交传翻译

感谢大师给我最后一个机会，大师吉祥，我是来自菲律宾协会会长李雄才。首先跟大师报告，《佛陀传》今年是十周年，十周年来我们感谢大师，你的指导、编剧、指示。《佛陀传》今年已经演了九十场，我们愿意把这个荣耀献给我们大师，祝大师身体健康。那第二个问题，要请教大师，就是感谢大师在菲律宾建了佛光山第五所大学光明大学，那么将来也要在菲律宾建筑用地也是要开始建筑，大师说真空生妙有，建一个学校要很多的资源，这一方面我想请大师跟我们指导，这资源要从哪里来，让我们能够很快的把大学盖起来，谢谢大师

现在告诉你一个消息，佛光山都监院已经筹备了一亿元，要给永光法师带回去，初步的工程就要开始
My good news for Guang Ming College is that Fo Guang Shan has already set aside one thousand million NT dollars for the construction of the new campus

我想一亿元在那里的光明大学至少今天能供三五百人先用了吧
And this should be enough to construct a campus that accomodates about 300-500 students

当然一个大学不是一年、两年的，是长久的发展
And certainly a university needs to last for a long time, not just 3-5 years

李会长，你这么关心，也要唤起信徒，大家共同协办教育，重要啊
So I might ask you to call upon your members to support this great educational project because it’s very important

希望你在菲律宾加油啊
All the best for Philippines

再来最后一个，哪一个出家人
One final question

Most venerable, great Master. I am very much impressed by your books. Your Buddhism, a new direction. You make Buddhism new word, Humanistic buddhism. It is wonderful. I listen to you second time, this is my second time. I am from India, my name Dr. Rahul Bodhi, I did my PhD in Pali tripitaka, I’m living a monk life, since the last 47 years. In India, there are millions of Buddhist now. Dr. Ambedkar, he did a great revolution in India. He revise Buddhism there, the most renovate person in his time, those days. And he has got millions of followers, who practice Buddhism. But one thing always strike in my mind that Dr. Ambedkar, he did not belive in rebirth. He said, there is no rebirth, and I’m really confused, because when I read the Tripitaka, and many of your books also, so I’m really much convicned that Buddha taught rebirth. But millions of people in India, they do not believe rebirth. So my question is, how can you advice, what is your opinion. And another thing, and I came from Gujurat Chapter, and I want to open a BLIA chapter in Maharashtra in Bombay. I have a big temple in Bombay city. So that is also one of my aspirations, and how can you guide us in our belief in Buddhism regarding the rebirth in Buddhism, thank you
我是来自印度的法师，那我我现在专门研究的是巴立藏。首先我要先表达我对大师的景仰，您为佛教开创了一个新的世界。那我也非常景仰安倍卡博士复兴印度佛教，甚至引导、接引很多上百万的人来信仰佛教。但是我有一个问题：安倍卡博士他不相信轮回的存在，所以我这边想要请教大师我们应该要怎么样导正印度的佛教徒，让他们相信轮回的存在。那第二个问题，我希望能够在印度孟买成立一个佛光协会，请示大师给我一些方向，应该要怎么样去做到，以上两个问题

佛教由上而下传教比较快
The spread of Buddhism works much faster from a top down approach

由下面慢慢的来传教普遍比较困难
But if you go from bottom up, it will take a much longer time, it’ll be much more difficult

当初悉达多太子他是王子，他成道了成佛，他由上而下很容易让印度的人信仰
Prince Siddharta experience less resistence in his spread of the Dharma because he was the prince

现在我们再各个国家，在慢慢的努力都由下而上，比较困难
But for most of us we are working very hard in different part of the world, we are taking the bottom up approach

当初中国的佛教也是靠汉明帝派人到印度求经、求法，这才佛法才快发展
And we might realize that Buddhism in China also begin with the Ming Emperor of Han Dynasty, who sent people to India to bring Dharma into China, that was also much more faster

印度的佛教安倍卡他是，这个种族的阶级不高，他的给人的信任程度很困难
But Dr. Ambedkar came from a low caste, which made it difficult for people to follow him because of his background

你们如果印度人努力，能把总理慢慢变成佛教徒，大概印度佛教复兴就快了
I believe the revitalizaiton of Buddhism in India will be possible if you ever win the heart of your Prime Minister and turn him into a Buddhist

我在五十年前，和印度的总理尼赫鲁会面的时候，我感觉他对佛教很友好
I met with the Indian Prime Minister Nehru about 50 years ago and I could feel his friendliness for Buddhism

我和他见面的时候，他面前就是一尊佛像
I remember the day when I sat down he had a Buddha statue on his desk

他跟我说，他说人家都说我们印度是文化古国，没有佛教，我们在世界上哪里有什么印度呢
On that day he said to me that although people regard India as a country of great culture heritage, I don’t think there would be any culture at all if Buddhism never existed

他又问我，他说你去过蓝毗尼园吗？
And then he ask me, have you ever been to Lumbini

他说现在让来给尼泊尔了
Lumbini is now a property

距离我们印度边境六公里
It is now a part of Nepals, which is about 6km outside of India

他现在很惋惜的样子
And I could feel that sense of pitty in his voice

我觉得希望印度有尼赫鲁这样的人才，他不是印度的领导的人，应该他算世界的领袖
For a great leader like Prime Minister Nehru, he is not just a leader of India, he is a great leader for the whole world

我们太虚大师到印度，也受过他的接待和欢迎
Even Master Taixu was received by the Prime Minister when he visited India

在太虚大师的传记里面有诗说，甘地尼赫鲁太虚/声声万岁万民呼/
And so there’s actually a praise for Gandhi, Nehru, and Masater Taixu in that when their voices come together, they win a lot of praises by the people

那时候甘地还没有被暗杀
That was before Gandhi was assassinated

甘地、尼赫鲁、太虚，大家都万岁万岁
In that priase there pretty much say in a great heal to Gandhi, Nehru, and Master Taixu

我对于印度的种族阶级这么森严，这个不能改革感觉到有一点好像不可思议
I do find that though difficult to believe in the fact that the Indian caste after today still remains unshakable

不过世间上，人能弘道，非道弘人
But you might discover that it is you who create the world, not the world that creates you

一切操之在人，只要我们努力都有希望
So it all lies in your hand, as long as you work hard, anything can be possible

我空空如也，我什么都没有，我连穿衣服都困难的。但是现在不是法传五洲吗
And remember when I say I came empty handed, with not even a burd, but today the Dharma is spread across the five continents

我认为你再加努力，印度佛教就有希望
I do have faith that as long as you keep trying, there would be hope for Buddhism in India
