甚至于女众业一百名，优婆夷，受过五戒的，皈依过三宝的，这样在我们佛光会里面的人间菩萨就很多
Then followed by 100 upasika or the lay women. So together we have 500 bodhisattvas

我跟觉培法师说，在我们佛光会里，至少我们提名一样的提个几十人出来给人家选，我们也要当选一些人间菩萨
I am certain that we have a lot of candidates in BLIS who will be eligible to become a bodhisattva,

比方我们中华佛光总会的赵丽云，赵辜怀箴，泰国的余刘素卿。她们为佛教的努力奋斗。她们不会当选菩萨吗？
Say for example, the president of BLIA Chunghua Miss Zhao Li Yun, and also Miss Lydia Zhao, as well as from Thailand Madam Yu Liu Su Qin. I believe all these madams or ladies had contributed tremendously enough to be a bodhisattva

我们把人间菩萨都选出来以后，我想他的子孙，觉得我的爷爷，我的爸爸，我的妈妈都是人间菩萨，我还能去信基督教吗？
I will believe that once they are nominated as bodhisattva, their children and grandchildren will never dare to convert to other religions

所以佛教要传承，我觉得我把这个人间菩萨从现在开始，这一届五百名，不能当选，没有关系，还有下一次，三年，五年后，都要不断的选人间菩萨，
So this is what the heritage of faith can be carried out and I believe this nominations can take place once every three to five years.

菩萨，储价也好，在家也好，都不计较的
It doesn’t matter whether you are lay or domestic to be a bodhisattva.

我们不是常说大菩萨，小菩萨，老菩萨吗？
Don’t we always refer to each other as Bodhisattva elderly and young bodhisattvas?

男众男菩萨，女众女菩萨，都是菩萨嘛
Men bodhisattva or women bodhisattva, we are all bodhisattvas.

我希望我们佛光会在我们今后的多少年之内，能产生几百，几千，几万个菩萨
So it is my hope for BLIA to produce countless number of bodhisattvas.

我先替你们授记，各位菩萨们
This shall be my prediction for you now.

你们将来都有份做菩萨
You shall all become bodhisattva

好，再来问。

大师吉祥，我在这儿。我是来自澳大利亚聚澳传媒的记者秦凌。有一个小小的心愿，就是我代表亿忆网，还有大洋日报，还有墨尔本的佛光弟子，想送您一个小小的礼物，这是我们亲手做的，是代表我们对您的一个心意。第二个问题我是想问一下，您白天说过佛是在信仰里，那么信仰究竟是什么？您觉得是信自己重要，还是信佛更重要？

佛和自己，就是信自己重要，还是信佛更重要？佛和信仰不在一起吗？佛有多大，你看你的信仰多少嘛
There is no need to compare yourself or your faith, because they are the same, they are together. The greater yourself, the greater your faith.

我举一个比较深一点的道理，在经典说，如三鸟飞空，空无远近，鸟迹有远近
Let me use an example, three different birds fly in the sky. The sky is all the same. But the distance will differ to each birds

如三兽渡河，水无深浅，可三兽的脚印就有深浅
but not to the river itself

这个话怎么解释呢？
So how do I explain this

这个虚空，老鹰一飞，一展翅，一分钟可能是十里路，八里路。
For an eagle which stretches its wings then fly. It could fly miles within a few seconds

如果是一些喜鹊，斑鸠，鸽子，它如果一飞，一分钟可能只飞了一百公尺，两百公尺
But if it was a sparrow or a swallow, when it stretches its wings and fly, it may only cover a few hundred meters in a second

一个小麻雀，它也在这里飞，飞了一分钟，可能只有五十公尺，三十公尺
But you have a very small swallow which tries to fly very hard, it could only cover a few meters.

虚空没有远没有近，都是一样
The space itself is all the same.

但是这三个鸟这么一飞，他们的能量有远有近，就不一样啦
The distance covered by these three birds will differ according to their own abilities and their energy

这叫三鸟飞空，空无远近，迹有远近
So this is the example of the three different birds that fly in the sky there is no distance at the same time. There is distance

三兽渡河。大象从水的这边到岸的那边。头在上，它也过了河。
When three different animals cross the river. First one is the elephant. It will cross the river with its head above the water.

马也要过河，它也是头在上面，也过了河
When the horse crosses the river, it will also be able to cross with its head above the water

狗子在河里面，它也是头在上面，也过了河。
Dogs can also do the same.

可是这三个兽过河，这水的深浅都是一样，可是它们的脚迹到什么程度，不一样啦
So for all three animals while the depth of the river can be the same, but the distance between the riverbed and their feet will vary largely.

我们的信仰就是这样，看我们的功力在虚空里面。对了，我能有多远。
This goes the same to our faith. The depth of our faith depends on how far we can travel

在水里，我能有多少深浅，
How deep can you reach the water

所以佛在哪里，在信仰里面，就在我的功力里面,我的信仰的功力里面
Therefore when I said that the Buddha is found within our faith, I am saying that our faith is found within our ability and energy

佛如虚空，对了，我在空中，能跟他接近多少
As the Buddha existing in the vast emptiness , how far is that emptiness can you reach

佛如海洋，对了，我看在这个海洋里面，我可以深浅多少
And the Buddha is also like the deep ocean, how deep can you reach
