Undeniable climate change facts

While the world continues to debate how to handle climate change,the facts are crystal clear.Climate change is real.In fact. 17 of the 18 hottest years on record that’s dating back till 1880 have occurred since 2001. Earth’s average surface temperature has risen by nearly two degrees Fahrenheit, since the late 19th century.
在全世界还在为怎样处理气候变化而争论的时候，无从争辩的是气候正在变暖这一事实。实际上，追溯到1880年，地球出现的18个最热年份中有17个都出现在2001年之后。自19世纪末，地球表面平均温度升高了将近2华氏度。

A 2017 report from the US government’s Climate Science Special Report states, quote, “It is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century.” As the earth warms, one of the major concerns is the melting of Earth-based ice, Currently, glaciers are retreating all around the world and massive ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica, are losing mass. From 2002 to 2006, Greenland lost as much as 60 cubic miles of ice. Similarly, Antartica lost 36 cubic miles, from 2002 to 2005.
一份来自美国政府的气候科学特别报告在2017年指出 “人类的影响很有可能是发生在二十世纪中期及以后的气温升高的主要原因”。随着地球变暖，最大的顾虑之一就是地面冰的融化。如今，全世界的冰川都在减少，格陵兰岛和南极洲的巨大的冰面正在缩小。从2002年到2006年，格陵兰岛的冰面一共减少了60立方英里之多。同样，南极洲冰面从2002年到2005年也减少了36立方英里。

As ice declines and the oceans warm, the higher the seas rise. Since 1900, the global average sea level has risen 7 to 8 inches.The most occurring since 1993. This rate of rise is higher during any preceding century, putting coastal cities at risk. As record high temperature events have been increasing, the number of record low temperature events have been decreasing since 1950. Now this doesn’t mean that we will see fewer winter storms with climate change, but we will see a warmer shift in climate extremes.
随着冰面融化和海水变暖，海平面也在升高。自1900年以来，全球平均海平面升高了7至8英尺。幅度最大的一次升高出现在1993年后。这次升高率超过了之前的任何一个世纪，使得海滨城市出于危险之中。在高温纪录事件增加的同时，1950年后低温纪录事件的数量持续减少。这并不意味着气候变化过程中的冬季风暴会有所减少，而是低温的极端气候将会转变成高温。
