Firefighters see through smoke with new mask

This product is gonna save lives. And that’s you know, what more could you want?
这个产品将会挽救许多生命。这一点就已经是无比重要的了。

Over 29130 firefighters were injured on the job in 2015 in the US.
2015年有超过29130名消防员在工作期间受伤。

68 American firefighters lost their lives.
有68名消防员因工作丧失性命。

One UK company want to reduce that numbers by helping firefighters see better.
一家英国公司想要通过帮助消防员在火灾中看的更清楚来减少每年消防员的伤亡人数。

The Scott Sight is the first mask for firefighters to have built-in thermal image camera.
斯科特公司的面具是首个有内置热成像相机的消防面具。

One firefighter’s objective is to go in to a room and to rescue victims.
消防员的目的就是进到一个屋子里去营救受害者。

In a smoke-filled room, you wouldn’t be able to see a thing.
在一个充满烟的房间里，你很难看到什么东西。

Conventional and thermal imaging system, you’re holding it like this, you’re looking in to the screen.

And that’s where we work closely with Scott Safety.

Identifying gaps in the technology market, to be able to embedded in to a product.

This bit here is the camera, that there is the in-mask display.

This camera is sending information wirelessly, which means that we don’t have to penetrating the mask with a cable.
这个相机是无线发送消息的，这就意味着我们不需要在面具中再加入电缆。

What you see in the display inside the respirator is the thermal signatures of whatever is there, even if there’s a fire in the background.
热成像信号会在面具中形成实时播放画面，即使在火灾现场也不会受到影响。

Significantly, that firefighter can still scan the room and find the victim.
更重要的是，消防员仍旧可以扫描现场并发现受害者。

You can imagine the environment in which these products go in, they don’t really get treated that well, even though they’re technology.
你可以想象一下这些产品的使用环境。即使它们是高科技，也可能不会很好的对待。

So the fact that the firefighter can forget it its there and go in it can live up to whatever they ‘re doing was the real challenge.
事实是消防员很有可能在进入火场时忘记它们的存在，所以真正的挑战是这款产品需要能面对各种环境。

The benefit of this is the fact that both hands are free. They have a screen they can look out whenever they want, it’s always capturing in the thermal screen in front of them.
这个产品的优点就是可以解放双手。这个面具中有一块屏幕可以随时查看，这个热成像屏幕可以随时捕捉消防员眼前的景象。

So they’re got way more information whenever they want.
所以当消防员有需要的时候，他们可以随时捕捉到更多的信息。

It’s a proud day when you see such a an impactful product improving people’s lives.
看到这种令人印象深刻的用来提高人们生命质量的产品是很令人骄傲的。
