Why a woman is approaching Presidents’ table?

Host:Now there is a subtle or not so subtle feminist message in this painting which I also found fascinating that we’ve got a spotlight on this female figure kind of blurrying in this background.It’s in both paintings.It’s a woman,tell me who she is.
主持人：这幅画传达了一个多少有些微妙的女权主义信息。我个人觉得这幅画引人注目。如今，人们愈发关注画中这位身后背景模糊的女性形象。可以看到，她同时出现在了两幅画里。请告诉我她是什么人。

Andy:In both cases,that kind of involved. And I can tell you the story.But that would be,in this case,the first female Republican president walking over to take her place at the table. And same way with the domecratic painting.And,you know, I’ve heard people call it a feminist message.I am far from-it’s a big disappointment to feminists everywhere. But it’s something that is going to happen.You know, it doesn’t need to be advocated or anything.We’re going to have a woman,you know-50% of our president will be woman.Probably from this time on.
安迪：这位女性在两幅画所要表达的意思是一致的。我可以给你说说这个故事。这是美国第一位女性共和党总统走向她的座位。民主党会谈的那幅画同样是这个意思。我听人们称其散播女权主义。我其实想说—这种论调会让世界各地的女权主义者都感到失望。这幅画暗示的，就是将来会发生的事情。我不需要利用这幅画去宣传任何事情。未来，我们一定会有一个位女性领导人。我们未来的总统有50％的可能由女性来担任。也许，下一届总统就是女性了。

Host:What make you so sure?
主持人：你为什么这么肯定呢？

Andy:Other countries are doing it.They’re doing it well.
安迪：我们看到其他国家如今正是这样，他们也发展得很好。

Host:So it’s about time we do it here.Well,there is a record number of women on the ballot this year.So,we’ll see baby steps.But why it is so important to have that representation in your picture?
主持人：所以我们也是时候这样了，对吧？今年总统选票中，女性人数达到创历史新高。我们会看到这方面在一点点地进步。但是你为什么要在自己的画作中如此大肆渲染这种意象呢？

Andy:Well,the story is that I don’t want to have it all men just because it begins to look like a global boys club.I knew I wanted to put women there.I just started to paint the woman in and to make her,the woman,walk over to the table. And I looked at the painting when I was painting it and I thought,wow,that would be pretty intimidating to walk up to that table of powerful people.
安迪： 因为我不希望画里只有男性。它看起来会像一个全球性的男孩俱乐部。我希望画一位女性上去。所以我就开始构思和作图，让这位女性慢慢走到桌边。我看着自己的画，心想，这位女性缓缓走到那张坐满各国领导的桌子，真令人心生敬畏。
