Santa helps blind child experience the magic of Christmas

Host: Welcome to our PERSON OF THE WEEK . The moment between the little boy and Santa. One mother couldn’t believe she was seeing.
主持人：欢迎收看“每周人物”。本周，一位母亲表示，当看到自己孩子与圣诞
老人的暖心瞬间时，她都不敢相信自己的眼睛

Reporter: Take a close look at this photo, it might look like a common moment, but this is a moment like few others. A 7-year-old boy smiling with his hands on Santa’s face.
记者：让我们自己看看这张照片，它看上去好像没有捕捉到什么不同寻常的瞬间但事实上，很少有人能体会到这一瞬间----一个7岁的小男孩微笑着把自己的手放在圣诞老人脸上。
Mathew Forster is blind and autistic, born premature, he spent more than a hundred days in the NICU. He is now in the kindergarten. He makes real progress, but his parents told us rarely when he took photo smiling, and rarely does he connect with people the way he did with Santa.
马修.福斯特是一个失明的孤独症患者，因为早产，他在新生儿重症监护室里待了100天。现在，他已经上幼儿园了。他已经取得了很大的进步了，但是他父母接受采访时说道：“很少能看见他笑着拍照，也很少看到他像和圣诞老人互动一样和别人互动”

Mother: when see somebody mention taking pictures, he just mouth down.
马修妈妈：他一听到别人说拍照，就会立马拉下嘴巴表示不高兴
Reporter: It all happened while they were in the Fort Worth in Texas, and mom had an idea
记者：当马修一家在得克萨斯州的沃斯堡时，他妈妈突然有了一个想法。
Mother: I grabbed Santa and whispered,” he is blind, and he is autistic”. He held his hand up ,said, “say no more ” and immediately touched Matthew’s hand and put them on his shoulders, so he could feel his coat, his fuzz and his hat, he gained Matthew’s trust instantly
马修妈妈：我抓住圣诞老人的手，悄悄的和他说马修的眼睛看不见，患有孤独症。圣诞老人把手举起来说：“我知道了”，然后立即牵着马修的手，将他的手放在自己的肩膀上，这样马修就能感受到圣诞老人的衣服，他的绒毛，还有帽子，他立马就获得了马修的信任。
Reporter: So what was behind that magic moment of connection? We ask the man in the suit----Santa
记者：所以这一神奇的交流是怎么发生的呢？让我们来问问圣诞老人。

Santa: He feels my beard, he feels my eyes, my idea was “give him a little more”, let he know what reindeer is , what pulls my slid through the air at night, so I picked him up, brought him over here, and let him touch and feel the reindeer.
圣诞老人：他感受着我的胡子和眼睛，那一刻我决定要让他感受更多，让他知道驯鹿---那个带着我穿梭在夜晚的空中的动物是什么样的，所以我抱起了他，靠近驯鹿，让他触摸感受驯鹿。

Reporter: And then it was time for Matthew to take his photo with Santa.
记者：随后，马修和圣诞老人拍照留念。

Mother: They took a really good picture, now, his sister was on the knee too and she gave a grinch face , but Matthew took a really good picture, something we guess so rarely. This is really a good Christmas gift for sure, I really believe Matthew met a real Santa at that day
妈妈：他们这张照片拍的太好了，他的妹妹坐在圣诞老人另一侧膝上，但是表情却不太高兴，相反，马修拍的却非常好。我敢肯定这是一份非常好的圣诞礼物，我觉得马修遇到了真的圣诞老人。
